The Middle Belt Forum (MBF) has called for the prosecution of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, at the International Criminal Court (ICC) over alleged crimes against humanity and killings recorded during his tenure.

The group accused the former governor of failing to adequately protect communities during periods of violence in Kaduna State, alleging that several people were killed and displaced under his administration.

The MBF said the alleged killings and other violations warranted investigation by international authorities, particularly the ICC.

The forum urged relevant authorities to take steps toward investigating the allegations and ensuring that anyone found responsible for crimes against humanity is held accountable.
