The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed a helicopter crash in the Igbokoda axis of Ilaje Local Government Area of the state.

The incident occurred earlier today and reportedly caused panic among residents of the coastal community.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Abayomi, said details surrounding the crash were still emerging, with efforts underway to establish the full circumstances.

Abayomi urged residents of Igbokoda and neighboring communities to remain calm and avoid circulating unverified information.

The identity of the aircraft, the number of people on board and the extent of casualties have not been officially confirmed.

The police command says the public will be informed as soon as credible information becomes available.
