Court Denies KC Luxury Bail, Orders Speedy Trial.

The Federal High Court in Lagos has refused to grant bail to businessman and social media influencer, Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, over alleged 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine trafficking and money laundering.

Justice Musa Kakaki, who delivered the ruling on Wednesday, held that the defence failed to provide sufficient medical evidence to justify the influencer’s release on health grounds.

However, the judge ordered the Ikoyi Custodial Centre to grant him unrestricted access to doctors and medical specialists for treatment.

KC Luxury’s counsel, Emefo Etudo, had urged the court to grant his client bail to enable him to receive specialised medical treatment at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, citing concerns about his deteriorating health and an alleged collapse of his lungs.

However, prosecution counsel, Abu Ibrahim, opposed the application, arguing that the medical evidence presented by the defence was insufficient to justify bail.

Justice Kakaki subsequently refused the application and ordered an accelerated hearing, adjourning the case until November 2, 2026, for the commencement of trial.

KC Luxury is standing trial alongside Boniface Freeman Ochoche Sule and Ikechukwu Ekugo Patriarch over the alleged offences.
