The Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, describing the recovery as a significant development in the ongoing investigation.
Ejodame said technical teams from the NAF and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) had confirmed that the recovered Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) was intact.
He added that parts of the Flight Data Recorder (FDR), popularly known as the black box, had also been retrieved, while efforts were ongoing to recover the remaining portion.
The Air Force spokesman further disclosed that additional aircraft wreckage, engine components and human remains had been recovered from the crash site.
He said recovery operations were continuing in the challenging swamp terrain, with teams working to retrieve outstanding components for technical examination and analysis.
According to him, the recovery exercise also involves the careful handling of human remains, with the Directorate of Identification and Classification (DIC) responsible for the necessary identification procedures.
The NAF added that it had maintained contact with the families of the victims to provide information and support, while engagements with relevant authorities over environmental concerns raised by the host community were also ongoing.
The Air Force assured that the investigation would be conducted with due diligence to ensure comprehensive and evidence-based findings.
