Senator Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, has challenged those accusing him of having links with bandits to provide credible evidence to substantiate their claims.

Buba described the allegations as politically motivated, insisting that his accusers should present concrete evidence rather than making what he characterised as unsubstantiated claims.

The senator said he was aware of the allegations being circulated against him but maintained that he had no connection with bandit groups or criminal activities.

He challenged those behind the accusations to approach the appropriate authorities with any evidence they might have, rather than using the claims to damage his reputation.

Buba’s comments come amid heightened public concern over insecurity and alleged links between some individuals and criminal groups operating in parts of northern Nigeria.

The senator maintained that allegations of such magnitude should not be treated lightly and urged those making them to be prepared to prove their claims.

He said he remained focused on his responsibilities as a senator and would continue to represent his constituents despite the allegations.
