The Economic Community of West African States – ECOWAS has officially opened applications for the ECOWAS Young Graduate Immersion Program 2027.

This is a 12-month professional development opportunity for young people to get hands-on experience inside ECOWAS institutions, agencies, and departments.

What is the ECOWAS Immersion Program About?

The program is designed to help young graduates integrate into the job market while also supporting ECOWAS to implement its regional programs better.

Overall Goal: Give young graduates exposure to ECOWAS work and let them contribute to major projects across the region

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, you must:

1. Be a citizen of an ECOWAS Member State – Benin, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo
2. Age: Not more than 32 years old at the time of application
3. Education: Hold at least a Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD or equivalent degree

Program Duration & Placement

• Duration: 12 months maximum, non-renewable
• Location: ECOWAS Departments, Agencies, Permanent Representations and Institutions across the region. Examples from past cycles include Abuja, Lome, Ouagadougou, Banjul, etc
• You can apply for a maximum of 2 positions

1. Motivation Letter addressed to the ECOWAS Commissioner for Human Development and Social Affairs. It should state your interest, area of focus, preferred profile, desired location, and commitment to program terms

How Selection Works

1. Positions are defined by ECOWAS Departments before each program cycle
2. Applications are reviewed by a Technical Selection Committee
3. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next steps
