The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ekiti State Chapter, has congratulated the Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, on his 60th birthday, describing him as a loyal party man, patriot and statesman whose contributions to national development have continued to strengthen the party and the country.
The party, in a statement issued by its State Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe, on behalf of the state chapter, said Shettima’s six decades of life had been marked by resilience, purposeful leadership and dedication to nation-building.
Ekiti APC particularly commended the Vice President for what it described as his “special affection” for Ekiti State and its people, noting his interventions and engagements in areas including development, education, youth empowerment, agriculture, digital skills and entrepreneurship.
According to the party, Shettima has consistently demonstrated support for Ekiti through his engagements with political leaders, support for APC candidates and encouragement of young people across the state.
“Ekiti people will not forget his warmth, his accessibility, and his genuine love for our State. He sees Ekiti not just as another State, but as a home of knowledge, values and progressive politics,” the statement said.
The party also described the Vice President as a leader who prioritises party unity and discipline over personal interests, adding that his political career had demonstrated steadfast commitment to the ideals of the APC.
“Today, we celebrate not just a birthday but six decades of purpose, resilience and dedication to nation building. Senator Kashim Shettima has remained unwavering in his loyalty and commitment to the APC,” Dipe said.
The Ekiti APC further praised Shettima’s leadership qualities, describing him as a bridge-builder who relates with people irrespective of tribe, religion or social status.
It also highlighted his experience as a former Governor of Borno State and his current role as Vice President, saying he had brought intellectual depth, administrative experience and calm leadership to governance.
The party noted his contributions to national policies and initiatives in areas such as economic diversification, food security and support for small businesses, describing him as a leader who combines policy expertise with compassion for vulnerable Nigerians, displaced persons and victims of crises.
“At 60, His Excellency represents the best of public service. His good deeds, both in Borno and at the national level, including his work on economic diversification, food security, and support for small businesses, reflect a leader who leads with both head and heart,” the statement added.
Ekiti APC prayed for continued guidance, strength and wisdom for the Vice President as he works alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The party wished Shettima many more years of good health, peace and dedicated service to Nigeria, reaffirming its solidarity with the Vice President.
