Ekiti High Court Begins Annual Vacation August 10.

Judges of the Ekiti State High Court will commence their annual vacation from Monday, August 10, to Friday, September 18, 2026. The announcement was made by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Lekan Ogunmoye.

In a vacation notice issued in accordance with the Ekiti State High Court Civil Procedure Rules, Justice Ogunmoye said the annual break is to enable judges to rest and prepare for the commencement of the new legal year.

The Chief Judge, however, assured members of the public that all courts across the state would remain open throughout the vacation period.

He explained that criminal matters, urgent civil applications and other civil cases approved by the vacation judge upon the joint request of the parties would continue to be heard.

Justice Ogunmoye also announced that the 2026/2027 legal year will officially begin on Monday, September 21, 2026, and advised litigants and legal practitioners to take note of the vacation schedule and make necessary arrangements for urgent cases.
