The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ekiti State Command, has decorated 25 officers and 79 other ranks recently promoted in the Corps.

The decoration ceremonies were held at the FRSC Ekiti State Command Headquarters and various Unit Commands across the state.

The Sector Commander, CC Sanya Adeoye, FCIPurS, MCILT, led the decoration of the newly promoted personnel and congratulated them on their elevation.

Adeoye expressed appreciation to God Almighty and the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, for approving the promotions and for considering the Ekiti Command worthy of the gesture.

The Sector Commander urged the newly promoted personnel to live up to expectations and see their new ranks as a call to greater responsibility.

He charged them to uphold the ideals of the founding fathers of the FRSC by maintaining discipline, rejecting corruption and demonstrating professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

According to him, the promotion comes with increased responsibilities and should motivate the personnel to contribute more effectively to the Corps’ mandate.

Adeoye reiterated that the core mandate of the FRSC is to reduce road traffic crashes to the barest minimum and promote a sustainable road safety culture among Nigerians.

He also encouraged personnel who were not promoted in the latest exercise not to be discouraged, assuring them that their opportunity would come at the appropriate time.

The Sector Commander said, “promotion is from God,” urging all personnel to remain committed and continue giving their best.

FRSC Warns Motorists Ahead of Ember Months

Adeoye also appealed to motorists and other road users across Ekiti State to obey traffic rules and regulations as the country approaches the ember months.

He noted that the period usually witnesses increased vehicular movement, making strict compliance with road safety regulations particularly important.

He urged motorists to avoid dangerous driving practices, exercise caution on the highways and cooperate with FRSC personnel to reduce road crashes during the period.

The Sector Commander congratulated all the promoted personnel and wished them greater success as they assume their new responsibilities.
