NUPRC Warns Nigerians Against Fake Recruitment Letters, Says No Jobs Available.

Nigerians have been warned against fake recruitment letters and fraudulent job offers being circulated in the name of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

The NUPRC said there is currently no ongoing recruitment exercise at the commission and urged job seekers to disregard individuals demanding money in exchange for employment opportunities.

The warning was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the NUPRC Head of Media and Corporate Communications, Eniola Akinkuotu.

NUPRC Raises Alarm Over Fake Employment Letters.

According to the commission, it has received reports of fake employment letters bearing the names of individuals who are not known to the organisation.

The NUPRC also disclosed that some suspected fraudsters were allegedly extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public by claiming that they had connections within the commission and could help them secure jobs.

The commission warned job seekers to be particularly cautious of unsolicited employment documents and offers that require payment before recruitment.

No Ongoing NUPRC Recruitment.

The NUPRC stated categorically that it is not currently conducting any recruitment exercise.

The commission stated that anytime there is openings for recruitment, the process will be conducted strictly in accordance with existing laws and government regulations.

It therefore advised Nigerians not to make payments to anyone claiming to be an agent or intermediary for NUPRC recruitment.

Fraudsters Reported to Law Enforcement Agencies.

The commission said it had reported the activities of the suspected fraudsters to relevant law enforcement agencies for investigation.

The NUPRC urged members of the public to verify employment-related information through official channels before taking any action or making payments.

Job seekers were also advised to be wary of fake recruitment letters, social media messages and other documents purportedly issued by the commission.

The NUPRC reiterated that legitimate recruitment announcements, whenever available, would be communicated through appropriate official channels.

Job seekers are expected to be vigilant and cautious to avoid being duped by Fraudsters who derive interest in defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.

Many people have fallen victims of fake unemployment opportunities due to high rate of unemployment in Nigeria, thereby making it important for job seekers to always exercise caution.
