Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has urged secondary school students in Ogun State to take their studies seriously and develop good character as they prepare for the challenges of adulthood.

Obasanjo gave the advice while addressing students in the state, stressing that academic excellence alone was not enough to guarantee success without good character and discipline.

The former president encouraged the students to remain focused on their education, avoid distractions and make responsible choices that would positively shape their future.

He also emphasised the importance of hard work, integrity and perseverance, urging the students to take advantage of educational opportunities available to them.

Obasanjo said the future of the country depended largely on the quality of young people being raised today, urging the students to distinguish themselves through knowledge, character and responsible conduct.
