The campaign organisation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Alli, has accused Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration of failing to adequately address hunger and hardship in the state despite increased allocations from the Federal Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Director of Media and Publicity of the campaign organisation, Bisi Oladele, said recent comments by Governor Makinde suggested that his administration had not been sufficiently judicious in the use of public funds to address the needs of residents.

Oladele questioned the impact of the increased federal allocations on the living conditions of residents, particularly amid concerns over rising food prices and economic hardship.

The campaign organisation urged the state government to provide greater accountability on the use of public funds and explain the measures being implemented to alleviate hardship among residents.

It also called on the Makinde administration to prioritise policies and programmes that directly improve the welfare and purchasing power of residents, rather than leaving many households struggling with the rising cost of living.
