The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has warned Nigerians against a fraudulent job vacancy advertisement currently circulating online in the name of the defunct Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

The agency, in a public notice, said the recruitment advert did not originate from the NRS or any authorised government platform.

It urged members of the public to disregard the advert and avoid providing personal information or making payments in connection with the purported recruitment exercise.

The NRS noted that fraudsters often use fake recruitment advertisements to deceive unsuspecting job seekers and obtain sensitive information or money from them.

The agency advised Nigerians to rely only on official NRS communication channels for information about recruitment opportunities and other employment-related announcements.

Members of the public were also encouraged to report suspicious recruitment advertisements to the appropriate authorities to help prevent others from falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
