The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has given GUO Logistics 72 hours to take responsibility for the deaths of five students from Gombe State who died in a road accident involving one of the company’s trucks on the Ijebu-Epe Road.
The students were travelling from Gombe to Lagos in search of Industrial Training placements when the tragic incident occurred.
In a statement, NANS President, Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, expressed condolences to the bereaved families, friends, colleagues and the Nigerian student community, describing the deaths as a painful loss.
The association demanded that GUO Logistics contact the affected families, provide them with the necessary support and ensure that all injured victims receive adequate medical attention.
NANS also called for a thorough investigation into the accident, insisting that anyone found culpable must be held accountable under the law.
The association said the deceased students deserved justice, while their families deserved compassion and support, adding that it would continue to demand accountability over the tragedy.
