NSCDC Mining Marshals Intensify Crackdown on Illegal Miners Nationwide.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Mining Marshals have intensified their crackdown on illegal mining activities across the country, warning operators against violating mining regulations.

The Commander of the Mining Marshals, ACC Attah John Onoja, said enforcement operations would continue nationwide without a predetermined sequence, as the Corps moves to ensure strict compliance with mining laws.

Onoja disclosed that the latest operation in Nasarawa State was conducted in collaboration with the Federal Mines Officer and the state’s mining regulatory team to enforce mining laws, operational guidelines and safety standards.

He said the renewed crackdown was in line with the directives of the NSCDC Commandant-General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, and the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Dele Alake, to tackle illegal mining and prevent revenue leakages in the sector.

The NSCDC commander warned that mining operators must obtain valid licences and meet all regulatory and operational requirements before engaging in mining activities.
