British woman, unborn baby die in Nigeria

A 40-year-old British woman, Claire Chadwick, and her unborn baby girl have died in Nigeria following pregnancy complications, with her family seeking financial assistance to return their remains to the United Kingdom for burial.

Chadwick, who was 37 weeks pregnant, reportedly lost her baby in the womb before developing sepsis, which later resulted in septic shock and her death.

According to reports, the deceased, originally from Wales, had relocated to Nigeria to begin a new life with her husband, Ibrahim.

The couple had built a social media following through videos documenting their relationship, religious beliefs and food challenges on TikTok and Instagram.

Following the tragedy, her sister, Shannon Chadwick, launched a GoFundMe campaign with an initial target of £10,000 to cover the legal, administrative and logistical expenses involved in repatriating both bodies to the UK.
