A meeting of the Accord Party in Kuje, headquarters of the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was disrupted after armed thugs reportedly stormed the gathering and attacked participants.

A video that has since gone viral captured the moment the assailants allegedly invaded the meeting venue, forcing participants to flee in panic.

Campaign banners were torn down, while tables and chairs were reportedly destroyed during the attack.

The violence also interrupted the speech of the FCT Accord Party youth leader, as his remarks were abruptly cut short amid screams and confusion.

The motive behind the attack and the identities of those responsible were not immediately clear as of the time of filing this report.
