The Ekiti State House of Assembly has considered three proposed bills and received nominations for three Commissioner-designates and ten Special Advisers during its plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye.
The plenary, held on Tuesday, also featured the reading of letters from Governor Biodun Oyebanji requesting the House’s consideration of the proposed legislations and the nominations.
The bills presented for consideration were the Ekiti Cooperative Bill, 2026; the Ekiti State Pension Reform Law (Second Amendment) Bill, 2026; and the Ekiti State Right of Way Bill, 2026.
The proposed legislations cover important areas of governance, including cooperative development, pension administration and right-of-way regulations, with potential implications for institutional development and service delivery in the state.
The receipt of the nominations of three Commissioner-designates and ten Special Advisers also forms part of the legislative business before the Assembly.
The proceedings reflect the legislative responsibilities of the 7th Assembly in considering proposed laws and matters brought before it by the executive arm of government.
The Assembly continues to play its role in lawmaking and institutional development, with the overall objective of promoting responsive governance and advancing the interests of the people of Ekiti State.
