Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has predicted a decisive victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, claiming that the president would defeat former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi even if they formed a political alliance.

Fayose made the statement during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he discussed the political dynamics surrounding the 2027 presidential race.

The former governor argued that Tinubu represented the shortest route for power to return to the northern region, insisting that the South should complete an eight-year tenure in power.

He further claimed that Tinubu would secure more than 12 million votes in the 2027 election, while predicting that the South-West would deliver a margin of between five and six million votes in the president’s favour.

Fayose questioned the opposition’s political structure in states such as Ekiti, Osun and Ondo, asking how Atiku and Obi would secure substantial support in the region.

The former governor, who was recently appointed Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) Board, attributed his assessment to his political experience and his views on developments under the Tinubu administration.

He also argued that electoral manipulation had become more difficult, stating that the outcome of the election would depend on actual votes.

Fayose’s comments represent his personal political assessment of the 2027 contest and do not establish the eventual election outcome.
