Bello Mandiya, former senator representing Katsina South Senatorial District, has died at the age of 62.

The Katsina State Government announced his death in a statement issued on Monday, expressing condolences to his family, political associates and the people of the state.

Dikko Radda, governor of Katsina State, described Mandiya’s death as a “great loss” to Katsina State and Nigeria.

Radda said the former federal lawmaker made significant contributions to the development of the state and the country during his public service.

The governor commiserated with Mandiya’s family and prayed for strength for them to bear the loss.Details surrounding the cause of death were not immediately disclosed.
