The Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has said investigations by security and anti-corruption agencies cleared him of wrongdoing over allegations linked to the purported Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).

Gbajabiamila made the disclosure on Saturday during the 2026 Gbaja Mega Empowerment Programme in Lagos State.

He said the allegations surrounding the PFIPC had been investigated by the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS) and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

According to him, the reports from the investigations are already in the public domain.“At the end of all the investigations, the Nigerian Police, the DSS, the ICPC cleared me of any wrongdoing,” Gbajabiamila said.

Gbajabiamila linked to PFIPC controversy

Gbajabiamila had been linked to the establishment of the purported Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, which was headed by its Director-General, Adeniyi Adeyemi.

Adeyemi had alleged that Gbajabiamila demanded a 48 per cent kickback from a N27.3 billion grant reportedly meant for the PFIPC.

He further alleged that N400 million was paid to the President’s Chief of Staff through a proxy, while another N200 million was allegedly outstanding.The allegations triggered investigations, following which Adeyemi was arrested, detained and subsequently released.

Gbajabiamila later instituted a legal action against Adeyemi, accusing him of defamation over the allegations.The latest statement by the Chief of Staff comes as he maintains that the investigations by the relevant agencies exonerated him from the allegations surrounding the PFIPC.
