Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State will commence a two-week annual leave on Monday, August 24, 2026, the state government has announced.

The leave is part of the governor’s statutory annual leave entitlement.

According to a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Olayinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji will continue to attend to crucial matters relating to the governance and administration of Ekiti State while on leave.

The governor is expected to resume official duties on Monday, September 7, 2026.

Oyebanji’s Second Annual Leave Since Assuming Office

The planned vacation will be the second time Governor Oyebanji will proceed on annual leave since he assumed office as the governor of Ekiti State on October 16, 2022.

The government assured that the governor’s absence from the office during the statutory leave would not affect the administration and delivery of governance in the state.

Governor Oyebanji, who is seeking a second term in office, has continued to oversee the affairs of Ekiti State while implementing his administration’s programmes and policies.
