Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the immediate dissolution of boards, commissions and parastatals across the state, while also terminating the appointments of political appointees.

The affected political appointees include Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants and Technical Assistants. The decision comes as the governor’s first term gradually winds down ahead of his second-term inauguration scheduled for October 16, 2026.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Olayinka Oyebode, the decision was taken in preparation for the transition into the second term of the Oyebanji administration.

However, the dissolution does not affect chairmen and members of statutory commissions, including the Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC), Civil Service Commission, House of Assembly Service Commission and Judicial Service Commission.The governing counc
