Jigawa Engages EFCC, ICPC, Security Agencies To Monitor Flood Relief Distribution.

The Jigawa State Government has engaged anti-corruption agencies and security operatives to monitor the distribution of Federal Government relief materials to victims of the 2025 flood disaster, as part of efforts to ensure transparency, fairness and accountability.

The State Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal D. Sankara, disclosed this during the flag-off of the exercise at the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) warehouse in Warwade, Dutse.

He said President Bola Tinubu had approved additional relief materials through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to support affected residents and improve their livelihoods.

Sankara said about 700 households would benefit from the intervention, which includes food items, mattresses, blankets and other household essentials, alongside empowerment equipment such as water-pumping machines, grinding machines, sewing machines and cargo tricycles.

He added that NEMA and the state emergency management agency were working with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Nigerian Red Cross Society, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to supervise the distribution.
