MURIC Petitions Oyo Police Over Alleged Killing of Man Inside Mosque.

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has petitioned the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Olugbenga, over the alleged killing of a man inside a mosque in Fiditi, Afijio Local Government Area of the state.

The organisation alleged that Pa Biliaminu Taiwo was hacked to death inside the mosque in November 2019.

MURIC disclosed this in a statement signed by its Secretary in Oyo State, Mallam Ibrahim Agunbiade on Friday in Ibadan, the state capital.

According to Agunbiade, a suspect identified as Ojo Akinlabi has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder.

He, however, called on the police commissioner to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident to establish the circumstances surrounding Taiwo’s death.

The MURIC secretary also urged the police to ensure that the suspect remains in custody and is not released before being arraigned in court.

Agunbiade stressed the need for a comprehensive investigation to ensure that justice is served in the case.

The organisation urged the police authorities to take the matter seriously and ensure that the alleged killing does not go unpunished.
