American rapper Nicki Minaj has called on more celebrities and social media influencers to speak out against the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria.
Minaj made the appeal while speaking at the X Takeover event held at Tesla’s Giga Texas facility in Austin, Texas, where she expressed concern over reports of violence against Christians in the country.
The rapper said her connection to Nigeria through her pastor, who is a Nigerian, and her Nigerian fans, popularly known as Barbs, had drawn her attention to the situation.
Minaj questioned why the reported attacks had not received greater public attention and urged influential personalities to join efforts to raise awareness about the issue.
She also expressed her willingness to do more to support the cause, saying she hoped more public figures would join the campaign to speak out about what is happening to Christians in Nigeria.
