The presidential candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), Esther Okereke, has pledged to tackle insecurity and restore safety across Nigeria if elected president in the 2027 general elections.

Okereke made the commitment while outlining her priorities for the country, with insecurity identified as one of the major challenges requiring urgent government attention.

She said her administration would prioritise measures aimed at protecting lives and property, strengthening national security and addressing the factors contributing to insecurity across the country.

The NRM candidate also called for a coordinated approach to security, involving relevant government institutions, security agencies and communities.

Okereke urged Nigerians to support leaders with clear plans for addressing the country’s challenges, saying the safety and wellbeing of citizens must remain a central responsibility of government.
