OTTI WARNS SUPPORTERS AGAINST DISRUPTING OPPOSITION CAMPAIGNS.

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has warned Labour Party supporters against disrupting opposition parties’ campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Otti gave the warning on Sunday during the flag-off of the Labour Party’s 2027 campaign in Umuahia, the state capital.

The governor said opposition parties must be allowed to use public facilities, including stadiums, for their political activities, provided they obtain the necessary approvals and make the required payments.

He warned that security agencies had been directed to arrest anyone who attempts to obstruct legitimate political activities, regardless of party affiliation.

Otti also urged political parties to focus their campaigns on issues and development plans rather than personal attacks.

He said Abia State had moved beyond campaigning on the payment of salaries and pensions, road construction and urban sanitation, which he described as basic responsibilities of government.

The governor cited the state’s performance in various governance and fiscal rankings, insisting that available data showed Abia was making progress.

He thanked residents for their support and urged Labour Party members to take the campaign to communities across the state, encouraging more people to join what he described as an ongoing journey of development.
