The Nigerian Senate has passed two amendment bills seeking to clarify the locations and host communities of two federal tertiary institutions in Bende Federal Constituency of Abia State.

The bills were presented for concurrence by the Senate Leader, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District, following their passage by the House of Representatives.

The bills were subsequently considered and passed through third reading during Tuesday’s plenary session.

They include the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Bende (Establishment) Act (Amendment) Bill, 2026 (HB. 2775), and the Federal College of Education, Bende (Establishment) Act (Amendment) Bill, 2026 (HB. 2776).
