Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has pledged to prioritise job creation, agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure and economic growth in his second term, promising to ensure that the benefits of government policies reach every household.
Oyebanji made the commitment during his inauguration for a second term alongside his deputy, Chief Monisade Afuye, on Friday, October 16, 2026.
The governor said his administration would build on the achievements of its first term by creating more opportunities for young people, supporting businesses, improving electricity supply and expanding access to essential public services.
He highlighted progress in internally generated revenue, road construction, healthcare, agriculture and pension payments, noting that more than ₦19 billion in outstanding gratuities and ₦73 billion in pensions had been paid.
Oyebanji also pledged to strengthen partnerships with the Federal Government to complete ongoing projects, including major road and electricity infrastructure, while advancing the Ekiti Knowledge Zone and tourism development.
He urged public servants, investors, traditional rulers and residents to support his administration’s drive for shared prosperity, stressing that the success of his second term would be measured by improvements in people’s living conditions.
The governor also called on Ekiti residents to support President Bola Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress candidates in the 2027 general elections, citing federal interventions and ongoing projects in the state.
He assured residents that his administration would remain accessible, accountable and committed to delivering practical solutions to their needs.
