BOUESTI Resumes 2026/2027 Session, Completes 72-Bed Hostel.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babatunde Omojola, has reaffirmed the commitment of the management of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Ikere-Ekiti, to students’ welfare as the institution commences activities for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Newly admitted students have resumed on campus, while returning students are expected to resume on November 1, 2026.

The university’s spokesperson, Temitope Akinbisoye, disclosed this in a statement, noting that the fresh students had begun settling into their new academic environment while completing the necessary hostel accommodation formalities.

According to the statement, the arrival of the students was marked by excitement and high expectations as they embarked on their academic journey.

It added that their enthusiasm reflected the importance of gaining admission into the institution and the opportunities it offers for learning, personal development and academic excellence.

In a move to improve students’ welfare, the university has also completed a new 72-bed hostel facilitated by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

The facility, which is ready for use, is expected to expand the institution’s accommodation capacity and provide additional lodging for students.

Speaking on the university’s commitment to students’ welfare, Omojola said the management remained focused on creating a conducive environment where students could pursue their academic goals with fewer challenges.

The Vice-Chancellor also encouraged students to take advantage of the Federal Government’s Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) initiative to access financial assistance for their education.

He explained that the scheme could help reduce the financial burden of higher education on parents and guardians, allowing students to concentrate more on their academic pursuits.

Omojola urged eligible students to familiarise themselves with the programme’s requirements and application procedures to benefit from the initiative.

He further stressed that students’ welfare remained a priority of the university’s administration, calling for cooperation among the management, students and other stakeholders to sustain a peaceful and conducive academic environment.

The university management expressed its commitment to supporting students’ academic development and improving facilities to enhance their overall learning experience.
