The Ekiti State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointments of Mr. Dayo Apata, SAN, and Mr. Akintunde Oyebode as commissioner-designates following their screening during plenary on Wednesday.
The confirmation followed a motion to allow the two nominees to “take a bow and go” in recognition of their previous performances as commissioners and familiarity with the legislative proceedings of the House.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, who presided over the plenary, commended both nominees for their records of service, noting that they had appeared before the Assembly on several occasions for screening and presentations of their stewardship.

Leading the debate on the bill, the House Leader, Hon. Tolu Ige, presented arguments on the proposed supplementary budget before the bill was read for the second time by the Clerk.
The Speaker subsequently referred the bill to the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation for further legislative scrutiny, while other relevant committees were designated to serve as subcommittees.
The lawmakers also considered and approved the governor’s request for the appointment of 10 Special Advisers to strengthen governance and support administration across key sectors of the state.
The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to expediting legislative processes and appointments in the interest of good governance and effective service delivery to the people of Ekiti State.
