The Ekiti State Government has commenced the issuance of appointment letters to 1,522 newly recruited junior healthcare workers to strengthen primary healthcare delivery across the state.
The exercise, taking place at the registry of the Ekiti State Primary Health Care Development Agency in Ado-Ekiti, involves Laboratory Assistants, Health Assistants and Health Attendants.
The newly recruited workers are collecting their appointment letters in batches of 300 daily following the verification of their original credentials.
The process, which began on October 28, is expected to conclude today under the supervision of the Chairman of the Agency, Dr Funke Ogunbunmi, with the approval of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The recruitment is aimed at addressing longstanding manpower shortages in primary healthcare centres and improving access to essential medical services at the grassroots.
The state government said the intervention would strengthen service delivery, improve healthcare outcomes and ensure that residents across communities have better access to quality healthcare.
