NSCDC Begins N1bn Headquarters Upgrade, Targets December Completion.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has commenced infrastructure projects worth over one billion naira at its national headquarters in Sauka, Abuja, with completion expected before the end of December.

The Commandant-General of the Corps, Professor Ahmed Audi, disclosed this on Thursday during the groundbreaking ceremony.

He said the projects include the construction of a new entrance gate and quarter guard, rehabilitation of internal access roads and installation of solar-powered streetlights.

Audi explained that the projects, expected to be completed within eight weeks, are being funded through intervention support rather than the Corps’ regular budget.

He commended President Bola Tinubu for providing the necessary support.

The NSCDC boss said the upgrade was part of his administration’s four-point agenda of resuscitation, rejuvenation, re-engineering and repositioning, aimed at improving the agency’s institutional capacity and operational effectiveness.

He added that the Corps had commenced preparations for the Yuletide season, with plans for overt and covert operations, intelligence gathering and collaboration with other security agencies.

Audi assured Nigerians that the Corps would strengthen security operations before, during and after the festive period, as well as ahead of the 2027 general elections.
