The Oyo State Government has dismissed allegations by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that Governor Seyi Makinde plans to sell or transfer the Agodi Government Fish Farm to a private developer.
The government described the allegation as false and challenged the opposition party to provide evidence to support its claim.
The Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, said in a statement that there was no plan to sell, transfer or hand over the fish farm to any private developer.
He accused the APC of spreading misinformation, noting that the party failed to present any official document, government directive or policy decision to back its allegation.
Olanrewaju also criticised the APC’s record in government, accusing the previous administration of abandoning projects and allowing infrastructure and the economy to decline.
He said the Makinde administration remained committed to developing the state through investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic growth.
The governor’s aide challenged the APC to provide credible evidence or withdraw the allegation and apologise to the people of Oyo State.
He maintained that the Agodi Government Fish Farm remained a public asset and that any decision concerning its management or future development would be guided by public interest and the law.
