Olu Jacobs Laid to Rest in Lagos as Family, Colleagues Pay Final Tributes.

Veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs has been laid to rest in Lagos, with family members, friends, colleagues and dignitaries gathering for his funeral service on Friday.

The service was held at This Present House Church, Lekki, Lagos, where members of the entertainment industry gathered to honour the late thespian and celebrate his life and career.

Entertainment entrepreneur Darey Art Alade paid tribute to the actor by performing his hit song Pray For Me, which features Olu Jacobs and his wife, veteran actress Joke Silva.

During the funeral proceedings, Jacobs’ son, Olugbenga Jacobs, also presented a biography of his late father, highlighting his life and contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry.

The burial followed a Night of Tributes held on Wednesday at Glover Memorial Hall, Lagos Island, where Nollywood stars, friends and well-wishers gathered to honour the veteran actor.

Olu Jacobs died on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving behind a decades-long legacy in Nigerian theatre, television and film.

His death marked the end of an era for one of Nollywood’s most respected actors, whose career spanned several decades and earned him widespread recognition both in Nigeria and internationally.
