The Convener of the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda (OPARHA), Dr Wole Oluyede, has commended members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other supporters for their massive turnout at the rally organised in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
Oluyede gave the commendation during a stakeholders’ meeting at Kemi Oluyede Crescent, Ikere-Ekiti, where he hosted the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Monisade Afuye, and other All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders to review the rally and strengthen preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
He urged PDP members to intensify house-to-house mobilisation, expressing confidence that the President would secure overwhelming support in Ekiti State.
The meeting took a political turn when Afuye led APC leaders to join the PDP stakeholders, commending Oluyede and his supporters for their contribution to the presidential rally.
She called for stronger collaboration between the APC and PDP, urging residents of Ikere to unite and work towards Tinubu’s re-election.
Afuye also commended the peaceful conduct of the June 20 governorship election, stressing the need for continued political cooperation.
In his response, Oluyede assured the Deputy Governor of his commitment to Tinubu’s re-election and praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s leadership, particularly in collaboration, communication and performance.
Former Ekiti State House of Assembly Majority Leader, Kayode Babade, and former lawmaker, Wale Ayeni, also called for unity and sustained collaboration between the two parties.
The meeting was attended by several PDP and APC chieftains, including former Deputy Governor Abiodun Aluko, Ikere Local Government Chairman Olu Adamolekun and other political stakeholders from across the state.
The stakeholders resolved to sustain regular consultations and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
