The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, says no opposition candidate can match President Bola Tinubu’s record ahead of the 2027 general election.
Yilwatda named former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde among the potential challengers he believes cannot match the president’s achievements.
The APC chairman stated this on Thursday in Abuja while receiving members of the Forum of APC House of Representatives Aspirants, led by Honourable Danjuma Mohammed, at the party’s national secretariat.
He attributed Tinubu’s advantage to the administration’s achievements in infrastructure and other sectors, challenging opposition parties to present their records for comparison.
Yilwatda specifically cited the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Trans-Sahara Superhighway as evidence of the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development.
He claimed that construction work on the Trans-Sahara Superhighway, which spans more than one thousand four hundred kilometres, had reached between thirty and forty per cent.
The APC chairman also defended the Federal Government’s student loan scheme, criticising opposition figures who had questioned the value of the financial assistance provided to students.
He urged members of the forum to work with the party’s structures nationwide to secure victory for the APC in the 2027 general election.
Yilwatda said the party had more than two hundred and sixty-one thousand executives across the country.
