The BAO Mandate Movement has dismissed a publication concerning the health and status of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, describing it as false, malicious and without credible foundation.

In a statement, the movement urged members of the public to disregard the report, alleging that it was intended to create unnecessary anxiety and distract attention from the governor’s development efforts in the state.

The group maintained that Governor Oyebanji has continued to discharge his official responsibilities, citing a report by the Ekiti State Government that the governor resumed official duties on September 7, 2026, after his annual leave.

The movement also called on those responsible for circulating the publication to uphold the principles of responsible journalism by verifying information before disseminating it.

It further stated that Governor Oyebanji was declared the winner of the June 20, 2026, governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and subsequently received his Certificate of Return.According to the statement, the governor is scheduled to commence his second term in office with his inauguration on October 16, 2026.

The BAO Mandate Movement appealed to the people of Ekiti State to remain calm, discerning and united while supporting initiatives aimed at promoting peace, good governance and development across the state.
