The City Boy Movement has welcomed the appointment of its leaders and members to the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The movement described the appointments as a recognition of its growing influence within the ruling party, noting that its members had been assigned roles across several directorates of the campaign council.
In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mohammed Abdullahi, the group said the appointments covered its co-patrons, governing board, National Working Committee, deputy directors-general and grassroots leadership.
According to the statement, Ayodele Olawande, a co-patron of the movement, has been appointed Director of the Directorate of Youth Mobilisation.
The movement’s Director-General, Francis Shoga, was named Secretary II of the Directorate of Support Group Mobilisation.
Similarly, O’tega Ogra, the group’s Deputy Director-General for Media, Communications and Public Affairs, was appointed to the Directorate of Media and Strategic Communications.
The movement added that other leaders, stakeholders and members from its national, zonal, state and local government structures had also secured appointments to various positions within the council.
Reacting to the development, Shoga described the appointments as a significant milestone for the movement, expressing optimism that the new roles would enable its members to contribute more directly to the APC’s campaign preparations.
He said the appointments provided an opportunity for the movement to strengthen its participation in the party’s activities as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
