Davido Fires Back at Edo Governor After Remarks About Gov Adeleke.

Nigerian music star Davido has publicly responded to Monday Okpebholo after the governor mocked Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke during a political campaign rally.

The exchange began on Thursday during an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally ahead of the August 15 Osun State governorship election. While addressing supporters, Governor Okpebholo urged Osun voters not to re-elect Adeleke, claiming the governor spends more time dancing than carrying out his responsibilities.

Hours later, Davido, who is Governor Adeleke’s nephew, responded through his Instagram Stories. The singer defended his uncle by sharing what he claimed were Governor Okpebholo’s West African Examinations Council (WAEC) results, which allegedly showed several low grades, including D7s and E8s.

The post quickly gained attention on social media, with supporters of both public figures reacting to the exchange and debating the comments online. Neither Governor Okpebholo nor the Edo State Government had officially responded to Davido’s post as of the time of reporting. The authenticity of the WAEC result shared by the singer has also not been independently verified.
