Afrobeats superstar Davido has won the Album of the Year award at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) for his critically acclaimed project, 5IVE.

The award was announced on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, through the official AFRIMMA Instagram page.

The 2026 AFRIMMA awards and music festival were held on September 12 at Annette Strauss Square in Dallas, Texas, United States.

Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, entered the ceremony as the most-nominated artiste of the year, earning five nominations across major categories.His album 5IVE eventually emerged ahead of a strong list of contenders to claim the prestigious Album of the Year prize.

Other nominees in the category included Black Sherif for Top of The Morning Era, Omah Lay for Clarity of Mind, Asake for M$NEY, Tyla for A-Pop, Burna Boy for No Sign of Weakness, Lloyiso for Never Thought I Could, Leigh-Anne for My Ego Told Me To, and Himra for SORRY I’M BAD.
