The Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, EKSUTH, has denied reports that it refused to evacuate victims recovered from the recent flooding incident in the state.
In a statement, the hospital said it had been working with relevant Ekiti State Government agencies in the search, recovery and proper management of victims following the incident.
EKSUTH said the bodies of two recovered victims have so far been received and are being kept at its mortuary.
It added that it was unaware of any situation that could support the allegation that the hospital refused to evacuate recovered victims.
The hospital urged the public to rely on verified information and avoid circulating reports that could cause further distress to affected families.
It also expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and the people of Ekiti State over the incident.
