Ekiti State has emerged third among the top-performing states in the 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) results, recording a 77.68 per cent pass rate.

The latest performance represents a significant improvement from the state’s 10th-place ranking last year, when it recorded a 68.50 per cent pass rate.

The development has been described as another indication of Ekiti State’s strong reputation in education and its continued investment in the sector.

The improved performance reflects the efforts of teachers, students, parents and education stakeholders across the state.

The achievement also provides an opportunity to sustain ongoing efforts to improve learning outcomes and strengthen the quality of education in Ekiti.

Congratulations to Governor Biodun Oyebanji and the Ekiti State Ministry of Education on the impressive performance, as well as the teachers, students and other stakeholders who contributed to the achievement.

With Ekiti rising from 10th to third place, stakeholders have called for sustained commitment to maintaining and improving the state’s position in education.
