Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, on Monday resumed official duties after the completion of his two-week annual leave, embarking on an extensive inspection of major ongoing projects across the state.
The inspection tour, which lasted about four hours, took the governor to strategic project sites in different parts of Ekiti State, where he interacted with contractors and officials of relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The visit was aimed at assessing the pace and quality of work, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines, as well as reinforcing the administration’s commitment to effective project monitoring.
Among the projects inspected were the newly acquired Ground Handling Equipment at the Ekiti Agro-Allied Airport and the Aviation Fuel Dump currently under construction within the airport premises.
Governor Oyebanji also visited the ultra-modern 80-bed medical facility being developed at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).
Other projects inspected include the reconstruction of the Adekunle Fajuyi Memorial Park in Ado-Ekiti and the ongoing construction of the new Ekiti State High Court Complex.
The governor expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work at the various project sites, restating his administration’s commitment to ensuring the timely completion and delivery of projects across the state.
Oyebanji said his administration would also continue to initiate and flag off new projects in line with its Shared Prosperity Agenda and commitment to improving infrastructure and public services for Ekiti residents.
The governor’s inspection tour further reflects his hands-on approach to governance and his belief that effective project execution requires strong monitoring by government agencies and direct oversight by the state’s chief executive.
Governor Oyebanji was re-elected for a second term in the June 20, 2026 governorship election and is expected to be inaugurated for another four-year term on October 16.
His inauguration will make history as the first time a governor will be sworn in for two consecutive terms in Ekiti State.
