Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has called for intensified efforts to secure the release of more than 40 children abducted in Borno State and held in captivity for 137 days.

Makinde expressed concern over the prolonged captivity of the children, urging security agencies and relevant authorities to intensify efforts to locate and rescue them safely.

The governor said the continued detention of the children was deeply troubling and called for coordinated action to bring an end to their ordeal.

He also urged authorities to strengthen security measures around vulnerable communities and ensure that those responsible for the abduction are brought to justice.

Makinde appealed for sustained attention to the plight of the affected families, stressing the need for urgent action to secure the safe return of the children.
