The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Adeleke was declared winner at about 7:49am on Sunday in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, after the final collation of results from the state’s 30 local government areas.
The INEC Returning Officer for the election, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, announced the final results.
According to the results announced on Form EC8E, Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 444,815 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, came a distant third with 17,180 votes.
Adeleke Wins 19 LGAs, APC Takes 11
The final results showed that Adeleke won 19 of Osun State’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won 11 LGAs.
Adeleke won in Boluwaduro, Ede South, Ife North, Ilesa West, Ifedayo, Ife Central, Orolu, Osogbo, Oriade, Odo-Otin, Ife East, Ifelodun, Iwo, Ede North, Ila, Aiyedire, Egbedore, Aiyedaade and Ejigbo.
The APC candidate won Ilesa East, Boripe, Irepodun, Obokun, Atakunmosa West, Irewole, Atakunmosa East, Isokan, Ola Oluwa, Ife South and Olorunda.

Voter Turnout
INEC said 2,339,544 voters were registered for the election, while 1,010,684 voters were accredited.
The commission recorded 985,079 valid votes in the election.
The declaration followed the conclusion of the collation of results from all 30 local government areas of Osun State.
The victory gives Adeleke another mandate to lead Osun State after defeating the APC candidate in a closely watched governorship contest.
