Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is leading the Osun Election 2026 results as the Independent National Electoral Commission continues the collation of results from Saturday’s governorship election.
Results from 303 of the state’s 332 wards show Adeleke with 177,572 votes, placing him ahead of his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who has so far polled 158,588 votes.
The African Democratic Congress candidate, Najeem Salaam, is currently in third position with 5,917 votes, while officials continue to collate results from the state’s 30 local government areas.
According to figures released during the ongoing collation, 361,500 voters have been accredited out of 845,100 registered voters, representing a voter turnout of 42.8 per cent in the Osun governorship election.
A total of 351,500 votes have been declared valid, while 7,200 votes were rejected. INEC said 43.41 per cent of polling units had reported results as the collation process entered its concluding stages.
The Osun election results currently show Adeleke ahead of Oyebamiji, but the final outcome will depend on results from the remaining wards that are yet to be fully collated.
Adeleke, who is seeking re-election, moved from the Peoples Democratic Party to the Accord Party ahead of the election. INEC cleared 14 political parties to participate in the Osun governorship poll.
Oyebamiji, a former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, is contesting under the APC, with Benjamin Adereti as his running mate. Adeleke is contesting with Kola Adenusi as his running mate as he seeks another term as governor of Osun State.
The Osun Election 2026 has attracted attention across the state, with political parties, candidates and residents closely following the collation of results from the various local government areas.
The final result is expected to be formally announced by INEC’s Returning Officer at the state collation centre after all outstanding ward results have been received and verified.
Until the official declaration, the figures remain subject to the completion of the collation process by INEC.
