Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the Premier League club until 2034.
The 24-year-old England international was previously contracted to the Stamford Bridge side until 2033, but his new deal extends his stay by another year.
Palmer said he was delighted to commit his future to Chelsea, adding that discussions with the club’s owners, sporting directors and manager had given him confidence in the club’s direction.
He said he was also encouraged by the shared ambition among the players to win major trophies and expressed his desire to play a significant role in the club’s success.
Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023 and has recorded a combined 91 goals and assists in 138 appearances for the London club.
Despite struggling with a persistent groin problem last season, the forward has started the current campaign strongly, scoring four goals in seven appearances across all competitions.
His fitness and availability for England have recently attracted attention after national team manager Thomas Tuchel left him out of the World Cup squad and criticised his missed opportunities to represent the country.
Tuchel’s comments followed Palmer’s withdrawal from England’s recent Nations League matches.
However, Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso defended the forward, insisting that he remained committed to England and needed to regain full fitness to deliver his best performances for club and country.
Palmer’s contract extension is the latest long-term deal handed to a Chelsea player, following recent agreements involving Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto.
The club will hope the England international continues to play a leading role as it pursues domestic and European honours.
