Temitope Osoba Died at Police Station, Fiancé Alleges.

The fiancé of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has alleged that the actress died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State, dismissing reports that her death was caused by complications from breast cancer.

Onadeko made the claim during an interview with the Celestial Reality Check, a media investigative unit of the Celestial Church of Christ.

According to him, he received a midnight phone call from an unidentified person informing him that Osoba had died at a police station in Ikorodu.

The prophet, who is the Shepherd-in-Charge of CCC Onibuore Cathedral in the Bogije area of Ibeju-Lekki, however, said he did not know the particular police station where the actress allegedly died.

He said he subsequently reported himself at a nearby police station.

Onadeko explained that Osoba had gone to visit one Mrs Kehinde Osoba shortly before her death and was accompanied by a hairdresser with whom she had been staying.

He said the actress had maintained communication with him during the trip and even made a social media post before he later received news of her death.

The fiancé also rejected claims that Osoba died from cancer, although he acknowledged that she had previously battled the disease and undergone surgery.

Osoba had previously spoken publicly about her battle with breast cancer and her treatment. In 2024, she announced her return to the public, describing her experience as a period of healing, growth and empowerment.

Onadeko also denied allegations that he had access to money donated to Osoba for her cancer treatment or that he used the funds to build his church.

He said the money was paid into Osoba’s account and that he had no access to it.The prophet further denied claims that the actress was prevented from driving her car, saying she drove herself to Iperu, Ogun State, shortly before her death. He also dismissed allegations that Osoba was subjected to physical maltreatment, including claims that urine or faeces were poured on her body as punishment.

According to him, they had a cordial relationship and occasionally borrowed money from each other.

Onadeko disclosed that Osoba also struggled with smoking and that he had encouraged her to quit the habit.

He further said the actress had left the church about three weeks before her death.

The allegations come amid various claims and speculation surrounding the circumstances of Osoba’s death, with some reports linking it to her previous health challenges and alleged mistreatment.

The actress died on Wednesday at the age of 40.

She is expected to be buried on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Iperu Remo in Ogun State.

However, the claims made by Onadeko had not been independently verified as of the time of filing this report, and the exact circumstances and cause of Temitope Osoba’s death remain unclear.
